Our Services

Choosing the right type of roofing for your Residential, Commercial, or Industrial property can be a challenge. Here at Enviroply Roofing, we are approved by leading manufactures Sika Sarnafil, IKO Armourplan, and Alumasc.

In this month’s Newsletter, we will be explaining the types of roofing services which we provide to our customers, which consist of:

  • Single Ply
  • Bituminous Felt
  • Hot Melt

Single Ply

Single Ply roofing membranes are strong, flexible sheets of synthetic polymer which are sealed at the joints to form continuous and total waterproofing for your building. Combined with insulation and recommended maintenance, they provide a complete and durable roofing system which can be used on any type of roof structure.

There are a variety of options available when it comes to installing a Single Ply membrane, and these include:

In addition, there are a range of advantages to choosing Single Ply roofing which include:

  • Low Maintenance
  • Creative Design
  • Thermal Efficiency
  • UV Resistance

Low Maintenance-
Single Ply roofing is impact resistant, durable, and strong. This means you wont need to worry about tears or punctures, holes or any problems occurring. In fact, Single Ply roofing needs only the minimal amount of maintenance, namely an annual check over, just to make sure.

Creative Design-
Single Ply roofing membranes can be cut to fit any unusual layout or roof shape. This means that any buildings with a creative design could be perfectly suited for a Single Ply roofing membrane.

Thermal Efficiency-
Due to a Single Ply membrane being applied over the top of the insulation layer, this can keep your building warm, with increased thermal efficiency.

UV Resistant-
Single Ply membranes are designed to be UV resistant, which means that they are well prepared for all weather types from snow and rain, to hot and dry.

Bituminous Felt

Also known as built up felt roofing; Bituminous Felt roofing is a tough, strong, and hard-wearing flat roofing option. This involves installing multi-layered felt fiber mats that are coated on each side with a bituminous coat, for highly effective weatherproofing and a lengthy life span.Bituminous Felt roofing can bring a number of benefits and advantages when installed professionally. These include:

  • Increased Durability
  • Resistance from Heat and Weather
  • High life Expectancy

Increased Durability-
The multi-layer design of Bituminous Felt roofing can offer a high level of durability, heat resistance, and impact resistance. This is because each layer adds a different feature, which complements and works alongside the others.

Resistance from Heat and Weather-
The design of the multi-layer membrane allows for maximum heat resistance and weather resistance. This prevents damage from all types of weather and allows the membrane to be more long lasting.

High life Expectancy-
Monotonous Felt roofing can offer a high life expectancy because of the quality of the design in the multi-layer system. This means that your roof will last longer and be more cost effective.

Hot Melt

Hot Melt roofing systems involve applying a hot liquid directly onto your prepared roof deck. This creates a self healing membrane that fully bonds to the shape of your building. They are created by using two layers of Bituminous rubber, to create a roof membrane that is around 6 mm thick. There is also a reinforced fleece layer between the two rubber layers, and then finally, a fully bonded felt layer added over the top. Hot Melt roofing can be bonded to concrete, timber, and brickwork and it can easily cover surface irregularities.

There are many advantages of installing a Hot Melt roof system which include:

The Installation time-
Hot Melt roofing is extremely quick and straight forward to install. It can even be installed during the winter, as it can withstand temperatures of up to -18 degrees. With fast curing times, the Hot Melt will be rain, snow and frost resistant immediately after application.

Water Resistance-
Hot Melt systems bond completely to the roof structure, which prevents any change of water tracking. It provides a self healing, self-sealing 100% waterproof membrane with no minor penetrations. In addition, due to it being a monolithic system, this means that there are no gaps, or overlaps that can cause failure points.

Longevity-
Hot Melt systems are built to last. In fact, some Hot Melt systems have a 50 year life expectancy, which is five times as long as some felt roof options.

Usability-
Hot Melt roofing systems can create a roof that is fully usable as a walkway or green roof. In fact, there are a number of things you could consider to turn your roof into a more usable space.
