About the project:
The development at Ollerton Oaks saw the creation of 12 contemporary homes, with a range of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom houses available, completed to a high standard and in a contemporary style. These homes are situated in Ollerton, a semi-rural area in Cheshire, and were designed to blend into the local environment, with a central core of tall Oak trees creating a striking centrepiece for the development. Each home boasts an expansive garden, large windows, and frameless glass balconies, as well as roof-top garden patio areas.
Our role in the project:
Here at Enviroply Roofing we installed the Sika single ply roof system for this development. As one of the most interesting roof designs we have worked on, this roofing system used pitch and roof angles to create a contemporary roof line that really stands out. We began the installation on 13/12/2021.
The initial step when creating this roof was the installation of a Sarnavap 500E vapour control layer. This is a popular product used on a wide range of developments, with an exceptional level of water vapour resistance to protect the roof system from condensation and moisture build up and erosion. This vapour control layer also provides a high level of durability and flexibility for long lasting security.
Following the vapour control layer, we then installed the insulation layer. For this project, Sikatherm Tapered Insulation was selected, to create the perfect pitch and gradient for the roof, ensuring effective drainage. These insulation boards are deeper at one end than the other to create the perfect tapering result, and were mechanically fixed into position.
To complete the roofing for the Ollerton Oaks development, we installed a Sika Sarnafil S327-15EL single ply membrane. This has UV stabilisers to improve performance over time, as well as exceptional weather and water protection to keep the roof safe. This membrane also offers a high level of flame retardant for maximum protection and to meet building requirements. The membrane was mechanically fixed to the surface of the insulation layer.
The result at Ollerton Oaks:
We completed the roofing installation at the Ollerton Oaks development on 24/07/2023. All parties were happy with the result, which was completed to a high standard, and achieved a 15 year guarantee.
