One of the latest projects we will be working on here at Enviroply Roofing, is the installation of mechanically fixed Sikaplan roofing systems for the development at Bowland High School, Grindleton. We are delighted to be working once again with John Turner Construction on this development.

About the project:
The development at Bowland High School will see the expansion of the school to an additional 150 secondary school places in the Ribble Valley East planning area. This is necessary due to significant housing developments, the rising birth rate, and increased pupil numbers. This development will see the internal modification of existing accommodation, as well as the creation of new accommodation on the school site.
Our role in the project:
As the North West’s leading single ply roofing experts, here at Enviroply Roofing, we will be installing the main and lower roof for the new accommodation. For this, we will be installing Sikaplan roofing systems.
We will begin the process for each roof by installing the 500e air and vapour control layer (AVCL). This has a high level of moisture vapour resistance, as well as offering good fire safety and a long life span, protecting the roof from water damage and condensation build up.
Once the AVCL is in place, we will then be installing the insulation layer. For the development at Bowland High School, we will be using tapered Sarnatherm insulation on both the main and lower roof. This insulation is tapered to create the perfect gradient for flat roofing, drawing rainwater off the roof and into the correct drainage channels. The insulation boards are made with a foam core and fibre reinforced felt facers, for maximum insulation and thermal efficiency. These will be mechanically fixed into position.
We will complete both the main and lower roof by installing the Sikaplan SG 1.5m single ply membrane. This will have a 20 year guarantee thanks to its robust and long lasting design, resistance to UV and environmental damage, and its highly effective waterproofing properties.
