About the project:

The development at Bindloss Avenue in Eccles is a private residential scheme. This will see the creation of a new 12 apartment, 3 storey residential block. These apartments will be created with air source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels for heating, as well as HVAC systems to prevent overheating in the summer months.

Our role in the project:

As trusted and reliable roofing experts here at Enviroply Roofing, we will be installing the roofing system for this development at Bindloss Avenue.

The first part of the installation will involve laying the vapour control layer. For this, we will be using the Sarnavap 5000E SA, a self adhesive vapour control layer made from multiple layers for improved moisture and water resistance. These layers include polymer modified bitumen with a glass-fibre mat reinforcement, and an aluminium foil. This will be sealed with S-Vap jointing tape, in accordance with guidelines, at all side and end laps, and to the abutment and perimeter of the roof.

Following the vapour control layer, we will then be installing the insulation layer. For this we will be using the Tapered Sikatherm® MW (DD) Insulation boards. These boards are faced with a mineral fibre tissue, and are bonded to the insulation core during the manufacturing process. The core of these bonds is made up of high performance mineral wool. These boards offer increased thermal resistance and low thermal conductivity, as well as excellent fire resistance for maximum security and safety. This insulation layer will be mechanically fixed into place in accordance with guidelines.

Finally, the roofing system for the development at Bindloss Avenue will be completed with the installation of the Sikaplan G-15 waterproof membrane in lead grey. This is a membrane that is polyester reinforced and offers an array of benefits including UV irradiation resistance, wind exposure resistance, and durability. As such, this is a single ply membrane that can be trusted for long term performance and long term roofing protection.
