PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The Kearsley Development on Manchester Road stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in revitalising communities.

What was once the site of the Kearsley Social Club, now providing 24 apartments for affordable rent, courtesy of Bolton at Home. Among these are 5 two-bedroom and 19 one-bedroom apartments, complemented by dedicated car parking for 21 residents. The roofing system is a vital component ensuring longevity, sustainability, and comfort for its future occupants.

OUR ROLE IN THE PROJECT:

As specialists in roofing solutions here at Enviroply Roofing, we were entrusted with the task of creating a robust and reliable roofing system for the Kearsley Development, for this was chosen to use Sika plan roofing system which we mechanically fix.

Working alongside Watson Homes we began with meticulous planning for the installation of a cutting-edge Single Ply Roofing system, tailored to withstand the test of time and weather.

The roofing build up began with the installation of the Sarnavap 500E vapour control layer. This critical element serves as the foundation, protecting the building from moisture ingress and ensuring a conducive indoor environment for residents, we lay the Sarnavap 500E across the roof deck, meticulously sealing all side and end laps with Sarnavap jointing tape, adhering strictly to the manufacturer’s guidelines. This attention to detail forms the cornerstone of our commitment to quality and durability.

We next installed the Sikatherm 150mm Foil Faced PIR Insulation. Engineered for superior thermal performance, this insulation material not only enhances energy efficiency but also contributes to the overall comfort and well-being of residents. Employing a staggered bond pattern, we mechanically fix the insulation in place, ensuring seamless integration with the vapour control layer.

To complete the roofing system, we installed the Sarnafil S327-15EL Lead Grey polyester reinforced roofing membrane. Renowned for its unmatched durability and flexibility, the Sarnafil S327-15EL stands as a testament to innovation and reliability, this was membrane was mechanically fastened in place, securing it against the elements and hot air welded at all the lap ends, we seal all end laps, guaranteeing a watertight seal that withstands the harshest of conditions.

THE RESULT AT KEARSLEY DEVELOPMENT:

Our commitment extends beyond the construction of the roofing system; it encompasses a dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Throughout the project, we have prioritised eco-friendly materials and practices, minimising our carbon footprint while maximising the longevity of the roofing system.

By embracing innovation and sustainability, we not only safeguard the present but also invest in the future of our communities.

Finishing our roofing build up to such a high standard allowed us to achieve a 25-year manufacturers product guarantee, all parties involved were happy with the quality of work and the results.
