About the project:
The development at London Road in Stockport will see the creation of 32 new homes in a popular part of Stockport, on the site of a former pub. These homes will be a combination of one and two bedroom properties, and will include parking.
Our role in the project:
Here at Enviroply Roofing, we will be installing Protan roofing systems for the 3 different roofing areas that will make up part of the London Road development.
Protan standard overlap roofing system
For two of these roofing systems, we will be installing a Protan standard overlap roofing system. This will begin with the Protan Polythene Vapour Control Layer. This is a durable barrier designed to prevent moisture from moving through the roofing system and damaging the roof structure. This can keep the roofing system in top condition, improving longevity and performance.
We will follow this with the installation of Kingspan PIR insulation. These are rigid Polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation boards that are designed to provide the top level of thermal performance. This means that they are perfect for the London Road development, where they will help to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature all year round.
We will complete these two roofing systems with Protan SE waterproof membrane. This reinforced PVC membrane is flexible with a textured, slip-resistant surface. It’s built for reliability and long lasting durability, making it the perfect choice for this project.
Protan ballast roofing system
In addition to these two roofs, we will also be installing a Protan ballast roofing system. This will begin with the same Protan Polythene Vapour Control Layer, and Kingspan PIR insulation, but will diverge with a different waterproof membrane and the application of a protective fleece, on which ballast and segregation will be placed.
For the waterproof membrane we will be installing the Protan G 1.8. This is a durable, synthetic waterproofing membrane that offers excellent resistance to weather, UV rays, and mechanical stress, making it ideal for long-term protection at London Road.
On top of the waterproof membrane we will then install the Protan F300M non- woven polypropylene fleece. This is used as a protective or separating layer in roofing and waterproofing systems. It enhances durability, prevents membrane damage, and supports system performance by allowing water drainage and vapour diffusion.
This roofing system will be completed with ballast and segregation on top of the protective fleece.
