About the project:

The development at Chatsworth Mill, Gorton, will see the creation of a visually attractive four storey apartment block. This will contain 16 two bedroom, and 24 one bedroom apartments, as well as car parking, and it will be designed to complement the local area.

Our role in the project:

As leading roofing experts here at Enviroply Roofing, we will be installing a high quality Alumasc roofing system for the development at Chatsworth Mill.

For the first stage of this roofing system we will be installing the vapour control layer. For this will be using Alumasc Polyethylene AVCL which will be loosely laid in preparation for mechanical fixing. The overlaps of this waterproof membrane will be jointed with Alumasc butyl tape.

Once the installation of the vapour control layer is complete, we will then be installing the insulation layer. For this we will be using two layers of 160mm Alumasc FF PIR Insulation, to create the right depth for the project. Alumasc FF PIR Insulation is perfect for the Chatsworth Mill development as this is a rigid foam insulation that is faced with low emissivity composite foil to increase the thermal efficiency and overall roofing performance. These insulation boards will be mechanically fixed into position.

To complete the roofing system we will be installing a waterproof single ply membrane, over the top of the vapour control layer and the insulation layer, for a warm roof build up. For this we will be using the Alumasc Alkorplan membrane in a lead grey colour. This is a high performance option, reinforced with woven polyester, that will be mechanically fastened into position for long lasting, top quality results.
