IKO metatech Liquid Waterproofing Systems

High-Performance Liquid Waterproofing for Commercial & Industrial Roofs

IKO metatech liquid waterproofing systems provide a seamless, durable solution for flat roofs and other areas where reliable waterproofing is essential. Based on PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) technology, the systems are designed for both new-build and refurbishment projects, including roofs, balconies, terraces, walkways and vehicle-trafficked decks.

At Enviroply Roofing, we install specialist flat roofing and waterproofing systems for commercial and industrial projects across the North West. We can advise on a suitable IKO metatech system to meet the requirements of your building and project specification.

What is IKO metatech Liquid Waterproofing?

IKO metatech is a cold-applied liquid waterproofing system that forms a seamless, fully reinforced membrane. The two-component PMMA resin is mixed with a catalyst before application, allowing it to cure without the use of an open flame.
The system is applied in layers, with reinforcement incorporated as specified. Its liquid application makes it particularly useful around complex roof details, penetrations, upstands and junctions where a continuous waterproofing layer is essential.

IKO metatech can be used across a variety of roofing and waterproofing applications, with the precise system selected according to the substrate, roof construction and intended use.

Applications for IKO metatech

IKO metatech liquid waterproofing is suitable for a range of commercial applications, including:

  • Flat roofs: seamless waterproofing for new-build and refurbishment projects.
  • Balconies and terraces: waterproofing for exposed and finished external areas.
  • Walkways and access routes: systems with suitable finishes for pedestrian use.
  • Car parks and trafficked decks: specified systems for areas subject to vehicle traffic.
  • Complex roof details: continuous waterproofing around outlets, penetrations, upstands and other difficult junctions.

The selected system and finish must be appropriate for the intended use and the project specification.

The Benefits of IKO metatech

Seamless Waterproofing

The liquid-applied system forms a continuous membrane, helping to eliminate conventional sheet-membrane laps and provide protection around complex details.

Fast Curing

IKO states that its metatech system can cure in as little as 45 minutes under suitable conditions. Actual curing and return-to-service times depend on the product, temperature and installation conditions.

Cold-Applied Installation

The system does not require an open flame for application, making it a useful option for projects where hot works are restricted.

Reinforced Performance

The specified reinforcement helps provide strength and stability across the waterproofing membrane.

Flexible Application

The liquid format makes the system suitable for complex geometries and a range of roof and deck applications.

New Build and Refurbishment

IKO metatech can be specified for new-build developments and refurbishment works, subject to the condition of the substrate and the suitability of the system.
