About the Project:

The Canal Bank House development will form part of a new residential scheme in Lancaster, providing much-needed new homes within the local area. The project is a high-quality development designed to respond to local housing demand while making effective use of land for new residential accommodation.

The development will consist primarily of two-story houses featuring a mix of property types, with 30% designated as affordable housing.

Our role in the project:

Here at Enviroply Roofing, we will be installing mechanically fixed Bauder Thermofol PVC systems for the upper and lower house roofs and garage roof. The Bauder single ply roofing system is designed to provide a secure, free-draining and weather-tight roof covering. This will be installed over the new composite deck in accordance with the Bauder specification and manufacturer’s requirements.

Protection Layer

A BauderSYN GV 120 glass fleece protection layer will be loosely laid across the complete roof area, providing a separating and protective layer between the composite deck and the waterproofing membrane.

The fleece will be installed with the specified laps and continued into relevant upstand areas to help protect the roofing system and maintain the integrity of the finished build-up.

Waterproof Membrane

For the primary waterproofing layer, we will install BauderTHERMOFOL U15 FR 1.5mm polyester-reinforced PVC-P membrane, finished in Anthracite.

The membrane will be mechanically fixed to the deck, with all laps hot-air welded to create fully sealed, smooth and weather-tight joints. The system will provide durable protection against the elements while allowing the roof to remain secure and free draining.

Detailing

The roofing system will be completed with a range of Bauder detailing components, including BauderPVC VBL 14 Laminated Metal Trims and Flashings, Bauder Thermofol detailing membrane and associated prefabricated accessories.

Upstands, roof edges, kerbs and penetrations will be carefully detailed to maintain the continuity of the waterproofing system. Complex details around pipes and other penetrations will be formed using Bauder Thermofol D18 PVC Detailing Membrane, with membrane joints hot-air welded in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.

Where required, BauderPVC ABL-R internal rainwater outlets, overflow outlets and SVP covers will also be incorporated to provide suitable drainage and weathering around roof penetrations.

Quality and Compliance

All works will be carried out in accordance with the Bauder project specification, relevant Codes of Practice and manufacturer’s installation requirements. The completed roof will be inspected to Bauder’s requirements, with a final inspection required before the system guarantee can be issued.

Following completion and final inspection, the project will benefit from a 20-year Bauder product and workmanship guarantee, with the system installed by a Bauder Approved Contractor.
