Project Overview:

Places for People collaborated with Investar and Watson Homes to develop a mix of 58 new homes in Salford. These homes are designed to add social value, and all 58 homes will be allocated via the Local Authorities Choice Based Lettings system to Salford residents who are in housing need. This is a landmark social project worth £6M.

The 58 different properties comprise:

⦁ 17 one bedroomed apartments

⦁ 31 two bedroomed apartments

⦁ 8 three bedroomed houses

⦁ 1 four bedroomed bungalow

Each of the houses, as well as the bungalow, will have a private garden. And there are also 46 car parking spaces.

Our role in the project

Our role here at Enviroply Roofing, is to provide an effective, durable and professional roof for the property. We opted for an IKO Armourplan single ply roofing system which is mechanically fixed. This is a great roofing option for a space like Melody Gardens. With professional wind load calculations, we can be sure that the roof will not move, even in the strongest wind. Mechanically fixed roofs are also incredibly secure, as every part of this roofing system is held in place firmly, with mechanical fastenings that will not rust or change over time.

Progress so far

The project is currently running ahead of schedule, and on budget, into the third quarter of development. The homes are expected to be fully complete by the end of the year.
