About the Project:
The development at Milltown, on the site of the former Volcrepe Works in Glossop, Derbyshire, will see the creation of new boutique homes including nine, two bedroom apartments, with six of these offering duplex living. The properties are designed to be kind to the environment, with air source heat pumps that will also keep bills low for the long term. They also have a fantastic location, in the heart of the peak district and within the picturesque market town of Glossop.
Our role in the Milltown Glossop project:
Here at Enviroply Roofing, we will be installing Protan roofing systems for roofing block A and B for the Milltown project.
For both of the roofing blocks, we will begin by installing the Air and Vapour Control Layer (AVCL), for which we will be using the Protan Polyethylene Vapour Control Membrane. This is a tough, long-lasting barrier that is designed to help stop moisture from getting through compact roof structures, as well as through floors and walls. It keeps damp out of the building and protects everything from moisture-related damage. We will also make sure that all of the joints are sealed properly, in line with manufactures guidelines, to make sure there’s full, continuous coverage.
Once the AVCL is in place, we will then install the insulation layer for both of the roofing blocks. For this, we’ll be using Kingspan by Protan. These rigid Polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation boards offer a high level of thermal performance, which makes them perfect for keeping heat in during the winter, and preventing the buildings from heating up during the summer.
To complete the roofing installation for the Milltown project, we will install the Protan SE. This is a flexible, reinforced PVC membrane with a textured, slip-resistant surface. It’s built for reliability and long lasting durability, making it the perfect choice for this project.
