About the project:
The Higher Lane development will see the construction of more than 300 residential properties ranging from one bedroom to five bedroom homes. Around a third of these properties have been allocated for affordable housing, and the entire development aims to resolve the significant housing shortage in the area.
Our role in the project:
Here at Enviroply Roofing, we will be installing an Alwitra Evalon V roofing system for the main roof, guest room, workshop roof, and balcony for a large property on the development at Higher Lane.
The installation will begin with the Air and Vapour Control Layer (AVCL), for which we will be using the StrataVap. This is designed for effective use within an Alwitra Evalon V system, offering a high level of performance and effective vapour control. The StrataVap is saturated and coated with high quality SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) odified bitumen. With an integrated aluminium foil layer, and a glass fibre reinforcement, this product offers excellent resistance, flexibility, and longevity, making it the perfect option for the property on the Higher Lane development.
Following the AVCL, we will then install the insulation layer. For this we will be using Evatherm A 140mm insulation, for all of the different roofs, apart from the balcony roof. This is an effective insulation option that is made from rigid polyisocyanurate foam board, and offers an exceptionally low level of thermal conductivity for long lasting thermal efficiency. This is rot proof, durable and maintenance free, and even offers reduced condensation, making it a long lasting choice for this property.
The roofing systems will be completed with the Alwitra Evalon V single ply waterproofing membrane. This is a vinyl-ethylene-terpolymer (VET), which is composed of polyvinyl-chloride (PVC) and ethylene-vinyl-acetate (EVA). The result is an extremely stable product that offers a high level of UV resistance, root resistance, excellent chemical resistance, and a significant fire rating. Ultimately, this product provides a reliable protective membrane against all types of weather conditions, which will protect the Highler Lane property for years to come.
