Recently we have secured a new project at Albion Works on Mottram St, Stockport, here at Enviroply Roofing. We are delighted to be working with Ainsworth Projects on this new development.
Project: Mottram St, Stockport
Address: Albion Works, Mottram Street, Stockport, Greater Manchester, SK1 3PA
Architects: Cartwright & Gross Ltd.
Contractor: Ainsworth Projects
Roof size: 400m2
Roof system: Sika Sarnafil Single Ply Roof, G410-15EL, Tapered Sikatherm PIR GT Insulation
Installation: Fully Adhered
Our role in the project:
For this project we will be providing new high quality, single ply roofing systems for an upper and lower roof. Both of these will be warm roof systems designed to our usual very high standard here at Enviroply Roofing.
The lower roof levels
For the lower roof levels, we will be installing a Sika Sarnafil Single Ply Roof, using a G410-15EL membrane. This is a high standard polymeric membrane, made from multiple layers of premium-quality polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The membrane is flame resistant and also contains UV light stabilizers. Designed to withstand direct exposure to the elements, for decades, this single ply roof membrane is the perfect choice for this project.
For the insulation layer on the lower roof levels will be using Tapered Sikatherm PIR GT Insulation. This is a strong, durable and light weight insulation board that has been specifically designed for flat roof systems. Both sides of the insulation board are faced with a coated glass tissue. We will be installing a tapered system that is designed to drain water from the roof by adding a gradient. This can help prevent ponding and standing water problems in the long term.
For the vapour control layer here we will be using Sarnavap HD SA. Made of polymer modified bitumen with an aluminum composite and glass combination inlay, this vapour control layer offers full protection and long lasting quality. In fact the HD here stands for Heavy Duty.
The lower roof levels will be a fully adhered system.
The upper roof
For the upper roof we will be using a Sarnafil S327-15EL membrane. This membrane will provide full weather protection, as well as UV resistance, for 20 years or more. This is made from multiple layers of premium-quality polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which is polyester reinforced, and is sure to provide a high level of wind resistance too.
For the insulation layer on the upper roof we will use Sikatherm PIR AL Insulation. This insulation board has a very low rate of thermal conductivity for maximum heat retention inside the building. This board is faced on both sides with an aluminium composite foil.
For the vapour control layer on the upper roof we will be using the Sarnavap 500E. This is a non-decaying, flexible, vapour control layer with a long life span. It also offers a high water vapour resistance.
This upper roof will be a mechanically fixed system.
