Secured Project: WWL Endoscopy Extension

Here at Enviroply Roofing, we are pleased to be working with Huck Construction on the development at Leigh Infirmary, where we will be installing a Bauder roofing system for the Endoscopy Extension.
Project:              WWL Endoscopy Extension
Address:            Leigh Infirmary, The Avenue, Leigh
Architects:         FWP Ltd
Contractor:        Huck Construction
Roof size:         Main Roof 178m2
Roof system:    BauderTHERMOFOL U15 FR, BauderROCK 205mm, BauderTEC DBR, 20 year guarantee

About the Project:

The development at Leigh Infirmary forms part of a wider investment by Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) to expand and modernise its endoscopy services. The plans include increasing the number of endoscopy rooms at Leigh Infirmary from three to six, helping the Trust accommodate more procedures and respond to growing demand for diagnostic services.

Our Role in the project:

Here at Enviroply Roofing, we will be responsible for installing the specified Bauder roofing system to the 178m² main roof, together with the associated roof detailing and waterproofing works.
The warm roof build-up will incorporate BauderTEC DBR 06 self-adhesive air and vapour control layer, 205mm BauderROCK insulation and BauderTHERMOFOL U15 FR waterproofing membrane. The system will be installed in accordance with the project specification and the manufacturer’s requirements to provide a durable, weather-tight roof covering.

Air and Vapour Control Layer

We will install BauderTEC DBR 06 self-adhesive AVCL as part of the roof build-up. This layer will help control the movement of water vapour through the roof construction and support the overall thermal performance and durability of the system.
The AVCL will be installed to provide a continuous layer, with particular attention given to laps, junctions and penetrations to maintain its integrity.

Insulation

The roof will incorporate 205mm of BauderROCK insulation, comprising one 120mm layer and one 85mm layer, in line with the specification.
This insulation will form a key part of the warm roof construction, helping to reduce heat loss through the roof and improve the building’s thermal efficiency. The roof construction will incorporate the specified falls to support effective drainage across the finished roof.

Waterproof Membrane

For the waterproofing layer, we will install BauderTHERMOFOL U15 FR single ply membrane. This reinforced PVC roofing membrane will provide the main barrier against water ingress and protect the building from the elements.
The membrane will be installed in accordance with Bauder’s requirements, with joints securely formed to create a continuous, weather-tight covering across the roof area.

Detailing

We will complete the roofing package with the associated Bauder detailing components, including parapet flashings, weatherings, and formed details at roof edges and junctions.
The specification also includes Bauder Thermofol rigid PVC parapet outlets, along with detailing around existing roof interfaces and soil vent pipe penetrations. These areas will be carefully finished to maintain the continuity of the waterproofing system and support reliable drainage.

Quality and Compliance

All roofing works will be carried out in accordance with the project specification and Bauder’s installation requirements. Particular attention will be given to membrane installation, roof detailing and drainage interfaces to help ensure the finished system performs as intended.
Following completion and subject to the guarantee requirements, the installed roofing system will benefit from a 20-year guarantee, providing long-term assurance for the roof waterproofing.
